I made my way into the heart of DFW Airport to attend a small but mighty convention in Anime Dallas. Unfortunately due to work commitments I was only able to attend Saturday. Although I was only there for a day, I absorbed the convention in its entirety. I spent a good 8 to 9 hours on the convention floor getting footage, photographing cosplayers, meeting awesome voice actors, attending panels and trying hard not to blow my paycheck in the vendors area.
Anime Dallas is a fairly new convention with this being only its second year. With that being said, this convention felt like it has already been around for years. The panels were well organized, the layout was awesome and there always seemed to be something to do. Not once in the time I was there did I feel bored and that is a very good thing. My only gripe would have to be the venue. Now dont get me wrong, the hotel was nice and accomodating BUT the hassle of going through the airport was kind of daunting for alot of attendees. I can definitely see a venue change catapulting this conventions attendance ten fold.
Many Anime conventions have game rooms but holy crap did the game room at Anime Dallas exceed all of my expectations! They had everything from rhythm games, Initial D cabs, Dragonball Fighterz cabs and so much more and did I mention ALL ON FREE PLAY!? I would have gotten way more rounds of DDR in but well I had work to do lol. To all of you who attended, what was your favorite part of Anime Dallas? Let us know!
