We at Minishout.com knew just how massive Fan Expo 2019 would be and well, we were right. The sheer square footage of thIs three day convention was jaw dropping in its own right. From vendors, exhibits, voice actors, panels and everything in between, there was a little bit of everything for everyone. Every aspect of geek culture was very well represented. The diversity that the Expo had to offer was incredibly impressive. Whether you were looking for a specific comic, Funko Pop, figurine, hand made crafts, clothing, you name it, Fan Expo delivered.
A massive array of actors filled the convention as well. Some of the bigger names in attendance included Michael J Fox and his cast mates from Back to the Future, Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy, William Shatner, Chris Sabat (voice of Vegeta, All Might etc) , Sean Schemmel ( Goku from Dragonball), Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) as well as the actors from the iconic 90s show Boy Meets World. Thousands of fans flooded the convention floors to get photo ops and autographs from their favorite stars.
An interesting booth at Fan Expo this years was Ripleys Believe it or not. They had a collection of cool items on display with plenty of information and background for anyone curious enough to ask. A 120 pound ball of human hair (yes, i said 120 pound ball of human hair..you heard right lol) was in full display with Ripleys willing to take donations from con goers to add to the massive, world record holding hair ball. Ubisoft was also represented with its own booth/storefront along with Next Level Dice. My personal favorite was the Funimation booth hands down. A mini FYE storefront seemed to be the front yard so to say of the Funimation booth with plenty of awesome items to purchase. Funimation may have even hinted at a future exclusive Funko Pop if you really paid attention to a specific decoration at their booth.
Cosplayers were out in full force. Theres no better place to show off your hard work and creativity than at the Fan Expo convention floor. The detail, time and effort con goers put into their costumes and accessories is quite remarkable. So many genres of cosplay were represented. From anime characters, comic book heroes, villains, sci fi movie characters etc. The convention floor was a wonderland of amazing cosplays . A red carpet was made available for cosplayers looking to get photographs of their costumes and show off their hard work.
All in all you couldn’t ask for a better time at a convention. The staff was incredibly helpful, nice and the event itself was very well organized. So if you find yourself in Dallas next year for Fan Expo 2020, do not think twice, just order your tickets as soon as they go on sale. This convention is a must.
