The Virtuix Omni just recently delivered its first batch of gaming Treadmills to its first Kickstarter Backers, with more to come as they fill their backlog of over five thousand pre-orders. A number of other companies have similar product, with Virtuix being the obvious leader in the industry.

Getting on your feet while you’re gaming could change the entire gaming experience for the better. The overweight gamer stereotype exists for a reason, because there are a lot of them. It’s easy to understand why too, being lazy and video games go together like weed and Doritos. When you’re spending your entire weekend grinding away in whatever video game you use to kill your boredom, you aren’t moving around so your body just stores all that fat in a hope that you’ll someday need some excess energy. Well there’s a few companies are trying to change that by creating multi directional treadmills to get your butt off the couch, and your fingers out of a Doritos bag. Virtuix even hosted a VR tournament to appeal to competitive types so now you can teabag someone by actually crouching down. Fortunately VR has not created any virtual life-like testicals to drop into the corpses of your fresh kill……yet.
